Why would you need a new Dell laptop shroud?
Laptop ‘shrouds’, ‘lattices’, ‘surrounds’, or ‘keyboard covers’ as they are commonly known are a small, but essential part of your laptop. In essence they are pre-formed and specifically designed plastic covers that are particular to a Dell model of laptop. They are needed to cover any gaps and unsightly parts of a Dell laptop once a keyboard has been fitted, whilst also helping to keep daily dirt such as food crumbs from getting between the keyboard keys. If you are changing your keyboard language, or wish to alter your notebook keyboard to a dual or single-pointing version, or backlit / non-backlit version, then it is extremely likely you will also need to replace your shroud to accommodate the change and ensure that your laptop still operates correctly.
It is worth noting that there are quite a few Dell laptops that do not need keyboard shrouds, but if you have one of Dell’s business machines, such as a notebook from the Dell Latitude or Precision range, then you will likely experience the laptop shroud problem.
